Current Status of China's Steel Pipe Industry Development. China's steel pipe industry has experienced rapid development in the past 10 years. In 2010, steel pipe production accounted for more than 50% of the world's total, with seamless steel pipe production accounting for more than 60% of the world's total and welded steel pipe production accounting for more than 45% of the world's total. China has become a world leader in steel pipe production.
Current Status of China's Square Pipe Machine Industry: After nearly 10 years of rapid development, China's steel pipe industry produced over 50% of the world's steel pipe output in 2010. Of this, seamless steel pipe output accounted for over 60% of the world's total, and welded steel pipe output accounted for over 45%. China has become a world leader in steel pipe production, achieving advanced global standards in output, variety, quality, equipment, and production technology.
Output and Production Capacity: During the 11th Five-Year Plan period, steel pipe output transitioned from the high-speed growth of the 10th Five-Year Plan to rapid growth.
In recent years, steel pipe output reached 57.65 million tons, an increase of 29.84 million tons compared to 2005, representing a 107.30% growth and an average annual increase of 15.69%. Seamless steel pipe output reached 25.28 million tons, an increase of 13.57 million tons; welded steel pipe output reached 32.37 million tons, an increase of 16.27 million tons, with growth rates of 115.93% and 101.02% respectively, and average annual increases of 16.64% and 14.99% during the 11th Five-Year Plan period.
According to surveys, seamless steel pipe manufacturers possess approximately 334 sets of various pipe rolling mills (including those under construction or planned), with a production capacity of nearly 30 million tons. Among these, there are 30 advanced square pipe units (16 of which are operational), with a production capacity exceeding 15 million tons. Welded steel pipe manufacturers possess over 3,000 sets of various welded pipe units, with a production capacity exceeding 40 million tons.
